Role of AI in Shaping the Future of Creative Industries

the role of AI in creative

AI has influenced almost every field of life, but the creative industry is the least one. Yes, the role of AI in some areas has a significant impact, but not at a professional scale. Digital marketers, solopreneurs, and small businesses might take it as a quick solution and advantage, but the generative AI model cannot generate “real creative work.”

I have read many blogs by creative industries, digital marketing agencies, application developers of the image and video editing industry, and other tech giants to understand the role of AI in the future. They all praise AI-backed tools in one way or another. I think these generative AI models are “re-generating” the content (text, image, video, or audio), they are not “creating”.

AI Content, AI Designs, and Plagiarism: Key Ethical Challenges

Various ethical questions are raised when we use AI content. One challenge among many, is to showcase the original work. AI models are working on the training (whatever the dataset is provided). But it is the “replication” which they are reproducing, some experts say it is just like inspiration. It is very hard to distinguish between them.

Legal and copyright experts find it challenging to address the issue of AI and intellectual property rights. It is also difficult but essential to credit the original creator. In this case, the role of AI becomes more crucial for the creative industry.

Does Google Search recommend AI-generated content?

According to Google, in a FAQ;

Is AI content against Google Search’s guidelines?
Appropriate use of AI or automation is not against our guidelines. This means that it is not used to generate content primarily to manipulate search rankings, which is against our spam policies.

Why doesn’t Google Search ban AI content?
Automation has long been used in publishing to create useful content. AI can assist with and generate useful content in exciting new ways.

Google emphasizes the concept of E-E-A-T and considers it one of the main ranking factors. To some extent, Google allows AI content if it is helpful and original, but it is not allowed if you see it as an easy way to game search engine raking.

 Does AI enhance the Human experience?

Humans have experienced the creative process from cave paintings to the latest digital tools. Experts rightly advocate AI-powered tools, declaring it as a pleasant experience and time saver. But there should be a distinction between the user of a creative work and the creator. I think “users” (solopreneurs, and small businesses) have concerns about the output and use of the creative work, while the creator enjoys the process as well. Picsart mobile application provides an amazingly smooth and user-friendly experience in the creative field.

Role of AI and Partnership with the Creators

Startups (especially solopreneurs) have a great opportunity to work with AI. This can kickstart a new venture by completing the creative tasks regarding text, images, audio, and video. The role of generative AI can be handy in blog posts and social media posts including visuals.

With the advancement of AI technology, its use in the creative world will increase to facilitate the users.
